The Air Filtration Situation
COVID-19 herd immunity is a tall order, as is the uncertainty created by the rapid global rise in cases caused by the new, more contagious, and severe COVID-19 variations. Hospitals are becoming overburdened, resulting in an increase of non-covid health issues as a consequence of delayed doctor appointments and treatment. There have also been numerous accounts of non-covid deaths emergency cases due to admission rejection.
Technical Situation
National health departments throughout the world are pushing for the construction of modular field hospitals to deal with these unpredictable pandemic as soon as possible. In collaboration with reputable HVAC specialists in Thailand, we selected the optimum air filtering solution for the modular hospital. AAF emphasized the remarkable performance of the AstroPure™ 450 (airflow and fan static) based on other application successes as well as its compact design for the modular set-up.
Astonishing Results
The hospital was pleased with the innovation introduced using multiple units of AstroPure™ 450 installed at the modular field hospital that houses more than 200 beds. The built-in operating rooms as well as the Intensive Care Units are also protected with AstroPure™ 450 air purifiers.
Each bed in the COVID-19 ward has an individually constructed “enclosed exhaust” that is all connected to AstroPure™ 450. The “enclosed exhaust” maintained its calculated air suction capability during the dry-run from the closest bed to the farthest bed from the AstroPure™ 450. All units installed in the modular field hospital are leak free including the HEPA filters grade 99.995% that are individually tested before installation.
